  • cambelt change help needed please and brakes

hi i have subaru impreza turbo 2000 4wd its 10yrs old its due a cambelt change, ive heard a local radio station advert for a guy who specialises in cambelt changes for all cars. Can anybody tell me what parts theyll want to change at the same time and costs for the parts..roughly, and how long will it take eg 3hours, plus whats a reasonable price for the labour eg £20 per hour ? what prices have you paid to do a cambelt on your subaru ? im in the Cambridge uk area cheers
ps also i need front brakes & pads..guy at quickfit saying i sjhould get vented grooved ones...whatll they cost and from where ?

get the cambelt kit ,if its 4 cam about £200 for the kit. belt ,tensioner, guide pulleys.fairly easy job once the rad out of the way i done a few in an hour . dont just get the belt as the guide bearings always wear and if you spin them you will hear that they are noisy.£20 an hour a fair price just remember if they dont know what they are doing it could be costly lots of valves to change!!!
        example of kit here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza...item41529ac1bf

ian at godspeed is fantastic mate, cant fault his products or service at all, just got my rear brake conversion kit from him

as for cambelt, as steve says, PM him for tims number and have a proper subaru god do the job in the quickest time you can imagine and at a super price, he comes to you to do the job and also as steve recommends, buy the best bits you can and if you cant afford the cosworth kit then buy genuine subaru or a gates kit at the very least

front disks and pads is £99 plus £12.50 for delivery
kevlar pads are a bit better then standard pads also worth changing the brake fluid for ians 5.1 and fitting hel brake lines £60
if you do the above it will improve your brakes no end
