can some one tell me what this means and why it has happened.
its a very slight smell but it is there.
also car has been sitting up for 4-5 months due to lost job and dont have funds to get it on the road at the moment.
also idle control valve was sticking could it be where it was overfuelling ?
am i best off doing a oil change and see if it clears out?
in the time its been off the road it would not start so was changing parts to test. so there was alot of cranking and not starting(flooding) could this be the cause too?

really worried car starts, ticks over fine this is my pride and joy so hope its not really bad news.

thanks in advance will

I've noticed it in mine as well occasionally, during oil changes.

I think - although someone more technically proficient will know better - that it's just a symptom of running rich, and as long as it's not bad enough to cause borewash, where the unburnt fuel cleans the oil off the cylinder walls - shouldn't be too much cause for concern. Hopefully someone with more tech knowledge can either confirm or correct that.
